What You Will Do
Lead Donation Center Operations
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Donation Center and maintain an organized, clean, safe and welcoming environment.
- Ensure appropriate staffing and volunteer coverage to support Donation Center operations and resident services.
- Coordinate the receipt, organization, storage and distribution of donated goods.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels and identify priority donation needs.
- Maintain resident needs and coordinate the timely fulfillment of move-in and household needs.
- Help address inventory shortages through donation drives and effective inventory management.
- Ensure food bank operations follow established guidelines and procedures in accordance with Maricopa County Environmental Services Department requirements, including food safety, storage, handling, and distribution practices.
- Maintain standards for general housekeeping and organization throughout the Donation Center.
Supervise & Support the Team
- Provide day-to-day supervision, direction and support to Donation Center staff and volunteers
- Help staff and volunteers understand their responsibilities and consistently follow established procedures.
- Promote teamwork, accountability, professionalism and excellent customer service.
- Work collaboratively with staff and volunteers from across the organization.
Reporting & Administration
- Maintain accurate Donation Center records and documentation.
- Compile and submit reports, including in-kind donation information, as requested by the Development Manager.
- Support grant-related tracking, documentation and reporting associated with Donation Center operations.
- Use Microsoft Office and other organizational systems to maintain records, reports and communications.
Policies & Procedures
- Assist the Development Manager with reviewing, updating and implementing Donation Center policies and procedures.
- Follow House of Refuge policies, procedures, confidentiality requirements and professional boundaries.
- Ensure Donation Center practices support the organization’s standards for serving residents with dignity and respect.
What You Bring
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Arizona driver's license.
- Ability to successfully pass a background check and drug screening.
- Must currently possess or be able to obtain a State of Arizona Department of Public Safety fingerprint clearance and food handler’s card.
- Complete training program to obtain a Food Handler’s Card the first 7 days of employment
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree or relevant professional training.
- Previous experience supervising employees, volunteers, or day-to-day operations.
- Experience in retail, warehouse, donation center, inventory, community service or a related environment.
- Experience working with individuals or families experiencing homelessness or other vulnerable populations.

Work Environment
- Occasional Saturday availability is required based on Donation Center operational needs.
- Local travel between House of Refuge campuses and community locations.
- Indoor and outdoor work with exposure to varying weather conditions and temperature extremes.
- The position requires a combination of administrative and hands-on responsibilities, including standing and walking for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift 25 pounds and assist with event setup and teardown.
- Reliable transportation.
