American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU position in Ventura County requiring at least 3 years of experience with both trauma and neuro ICU backgrounds and a CA RN license.

Neuro ICU setting within a hospital environment
-
Patient population spans adolescents through geriatrics
-
Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2

3x12-hour night shifts (18:45–07:15)
-
Floating required within the service line
-
Cerner EMR experience required
-
Active CA RN license required
-
Minimum 3 years of RN experience required
-
Both trauma and neuro ICU experience required and must be documented in work history
-
Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), and TNCC or TCAR
-
Preferred certifications: CPI and MAB
-
Proficiency in dysrhythmia interpretation and management
-
Experience with multi-system organ failure, IV insulin protocols, and vasoactive/cardiac drip titration
-
Experience with CVVHD/CRRT, shunt and fistula care, and chronic/acute renal failure management
-
Experience with arterial line management, central line/PICC line care, and port access
-
Experience with external ventricular drains (EVD), ICP monitoring, and hypothermia protocols (e.g., Arctic Sun)
-
Experience with CVA/acute stroke management, post-neurosurgery care, spinal cord injury, and TBI
-
Experience with ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, ABG interpretation, and suctioning (ETT/NT)
-
Experience with blood product administration, procedural sedation, and continuous IV sedation
-
Experience with surgical wounds with drains and wound VAC
-
Strict adherence to accurate and thorough charting is required
-
2 professional supervisor references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
-
Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration

This unit conducts extensive chart audits; integrity in charting and assessments is critical
-
First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
