Heavy Equipment Operator – Rock Quarry
Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable, safety-focused Heavy Equipment Operator to join our quarry operations team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating heavy equipment in a mining, quarry, construction, or aggregate environment and demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, professionalism, and production efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate heavy equipment including loaders, excavators, haul trucks, dozers, and other quarry-related machinery.
- Load, move, stockpile, and transport aggregate materials throughout the quarry.
- Conduct pre-shift and post-shift equipment inspections and report maintenance needs promptly.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and contractors.
- Assist with general quarry operations and other duties as assigned.
- Work efficiently while maintaining quality standards and production goals.
Qualifications
- Previous experience operating heavy equipment preferred.
- Experience in quarry, mining, aggregate, construction, or related industries is a plus.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and around dust, noise, and uneven terrain.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance record.
Requirements
- Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and any required random drug testing.
- Must conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times.
- Must demonstrate and uphold an unmatched commitment to workplace safety.
- Must be willing and able to complete required MSHA (Mine Safety and Health Administration) training prior to or upon hire.
- Must comply with all federal, state, local, and company safety regulations.
- Ability to perform physical duties including climbing, lifting, walking on uneven surfaces, and working around heavy equipment.
