Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist. The successful candidate will be responsible for setup and operation of CNC lathes equipped with Fanuc Controls.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform machine setups on CNC lathes with Fanuc controls, ensuring equipment is calibrated and in good working order.
- Write, edit, and optimize G-code and M-code programs for CNC lathes. Utilize live tooling for multi-axis machining.
- Conduct in-process inspections and verify parts against blueprints, specifications, and tolerances to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Resolve any technical issues or malfunctions during machining operations. Maintain machine uptime and efficient production flow.
- Train and mentor junior machinists and operators in CNC lathe operations, programming, and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to identify process improvements, reduce scrap, and optimize machining techniques.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and company procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in CNC lathe machining
- Technical Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of Fanuc CNC controls, G-code, and M-code programming.
- Experience with live tooling, twin turrets, and sub-spindles is preferred
- Programming & Setup Expertise: Ability to create, edit, and optimize programs for both turning and milling operations on CNC lathes.
- Blueprint Reading & Inspection: Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Skilled in using measuring instruments.
- High level of precision and attention to detail in all aspects of machining operations.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery and noise.
- Manual dexterity for handling small components.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as required.
- Occasional bending, stooping, and reaching may be required.
