Construction Superintendent (Ground-Up Construction)
Position Overview
We're one of South Florida's highest rated General Contractors, and we're busy with projects in the Tricounty area (Dane, Broward, Palm Beach)! We do a lot of public/federal works projects, and we are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead ground-up construction projects from mobilization through closeout. The Superintendent will be responsible for on-site supervision, production coordination, safety enforcement, quality control, and schedule management to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to specification. This role requires a hands-on leader who can manage subcontractors, maintain client relationships, and navigate regulatory requirements for commercial, public works, or federal projects.
Key Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day on-site supervision and leadership for ground-up construction projects, ensuring work proceeds safely, on schedule, and to quality standards.

Develop, monitor, and drive the construction schedule; coordinate sequencing of trades and deliveries to meet milestones and handover dates.

Manage subcontractors and craft labor, enforcing contract scope, quality standards, and productivity expectations.

Implement and enforce site safety programs, including OSHA compliance, toolbox talks, and incident reporting; maintain a safe and clean jobsite.

Perform quality control and inspections; coordinate corrective actions and documentation to meet project specifications and owner requirements.

Coordinate with project managers, construction managers, engineers, architects, and client representatives to resolve technical and logistical issues promptly.

Oversee material procurement and on-site inventory to avoid delays and manage costs.

Prepare and submit daily reports, progress photos, RFIs, change order documentation, and as-built records.

Support permitting, inspections, and regulatory coordination for public works or federally regulated projects, as applicable.

Mentor and develop field staff, fostering a collaborative, results-oriented team environment.
Qualifications

Willingness to travel between project sites from Miami to Palm Beach

Proven experience as a Superintendent on ground-up construction projects; minimum 7 years of relevant field experience preferred.

Demonstrated ability to manage commercial, public works, or federal construction projects (nice to have).

Strong knowledge of construction methods, structural and civil systems, and site logistics.

Experience with construction management practices, including scheduling, cost control, and quality assurance (nice to have).

Familiarity with federal contracting requirements, prevailing wage rules, or public works processes is beneficial (nice to have).

Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders.

Proficient in reading construction drawings, specifications, and performing field layout checks.

Valid drivers license and reliable transportation; ability to travel between job sites as required.

OSHA 30-hour certification and current First Aid/CPR preferred.

Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field is preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
