Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. Duties
- Set up and operate CNC machines such as lathes, mills, and grinders, ensuring precise alignment and calibration for each job
- Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately to produce complex parts within specified tolerances
- Program CNC equipment using G-code, M-code, and CAM programming software like SolidWorks or other CAD tools i.e. Mastercam to optimize machining processes.
- Conduct precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other measurement instruments to verify part quality
- Perform machine maintenance, tooling setup, and adjustments to maintain optimal performance and safety standards
- Utilize manual machining tools such as hand tools, power tools, grinders, and lathes for secondary operations or fine-tuning parts as needed
- Collaborate with engineering teams to interpret GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications for accurate manufacturing
- Ensure adherence to lean manufacturing principles by minimizing waste and improving workflow efficiency during production cycles
Skills
- Extensive experience with CNC machining including CNC lathe and milling machine operations using Fanuc or similar control systems
- Proficiency in CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software such as SolidWorks, Mastercam and general blueprint reading skills for mechanical drawings
- Strong knowledge of machining tools, tooling selection, setup procedures, and manual machining techniques
- Skilled in CNC programming including G-code, M-code, and CAM software for efficient program development
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret mechanical blueprints and apply GD&T standards for quality control
- Expertise in precision measurement instruments such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, dial indicators, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) for quality inspection
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes including plastics injection molding and metal fabrication techniques
- Ability to perform machine setup independently while maintaining safety protocols at all times
- Basic math skills for calculations related to measurements, tolerances, feed rates, speeds, and conversions
- Experience with measurement quality control procedures to ensure parts meet strict specifications
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles aimed at reducing waste and optimizing productivity
