Position: Industrial HVAC Technician
Location: Columbia, SC
Pay Range: $20-$45/hr
Schedule: Monday – Friday | Local Position | No Travel

Tiello has partnered with a well-established mechanical contractor seeking an experienced Industrial HVAC Technician to support operations in Columbia, SC. This position focuses on servicing and maintaining large-scale industrial HVAC systems in a fast-paced, safety-driven environment.
The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting abilities and experience working with complex mechanical systems including large-tonnage equipment commonly found in industrial facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, service, and repair industrial HVAC equipment
- Troubleshoot and maintain large-tonnage systems including chillers, air handlers, rooftop units, boilers, and associated equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance and system inspections to ensure reliable operation
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and implement effective solutions
- Work independently or alongside team members to complete projects safely and efficiently
- Communicate professionally with customers, supervisors, and internal teams regarding service needs and system status
- Support and assist with training junior technicians as needed
- Maintain compliance with all company safety policies and procedures
Required Qualifications
- 2-5 years of HVAC experience working with large-scale systems
- EPA Universal Certification
- Valid Driver’s License
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting capabilities
- Ability to work independently while maintaining strong communication with the service team
Preferred Skills
- Experience servicing large chillers, boilers, and industrial air handling equipment
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read technical drawings and system schematics
- Experience working in industrial or manufacturing environments
Physical & Work Environment Expectations
- Ability to work in industrial facilities and mechanical spaces
- Comfortable working on ladders, rooftops, and elevated work areas
- Ability to lift tools and equipment as required
- Strong safety awareness in active industrial environments
