As the Director of Medical/Surgical, ICUDialysis, you'll provide strategic and operational leadership for three essential patient care departments while ensuring the highest standards of clinical excellence.
Your responsibilities will include:
Directing the daily operations of the Medical/Surgical, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and Dialysis departments
Leading, mentoring, and developing nursing managers and clinical staff to promote engagement, accountability, and professional growth
Driving quality improvement initiatives that enhance patient safety, clinical outcomes, and patient satisfaction
Managing departmental budgets, productivity, staffing plans, and resource allocation
Monitoring operational and quality metrics while implementing evidence-based best practices
Collaborating with physicians, executive leadership, and interdisciplinary teams to achieve organizational goals
Ensuring compliance with Joint Commission standards, CMS regulations, state and federal requirements, and hospital policies
Promoting a culture of safety, teamwork, accountability, and patient-centered care
Supporting strategic initiatives that improve efficiency, expand services, and strengthen organizational performance
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred
Current Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) License required
Current BLS Certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross) required
Current ACLS Certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross) required
CPI (Nonviolent Crisis Intervention) certification required within one month of hire and ongoing competency thereafter
Minimum of three (3) years of progressive nursing leadership experience in an acute care hospital
Previous Director or Nurse Manager experience preferred
Demonstrated experience managing Medical/Surgical, Critical Care, and/or Dialysis services preferred
Strong leadership, financial management, communication, and strategic planning skills
Ability to inspire teams, build relationships, and lead organizational change
