Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and responsible Ferry and Water Taxi Captain to lead water transportation operations in a vibrant waterfront environment on late night water taxi trips and one, early morning trip per week. This role involves safely navigating ferries and water taxis across designated routes, ensuring passenger safety, and maintaining vessel operations with precision. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, management skills, and experience with rigging and maritime procedures. As a key member of our team, you will deliver exceptional service while adhering to all safety regulations and operational standards.
Duties
- Operate ferries and water taxis efficiently along assigned routes, ensuring timely and safe passenger transport.
- Conduct pre-departure vessel inspections, including checking rigging, mechanical systems, safety equipment, and navigation tools.
- Manage onboard crew members, coordinating tasks to ensure smooth vessel operations and passenger comfort.
- Maintain clear communication with harbor control, crew, and passengers throughout each voyage.
- Ensure compliance with maritime safety regulations, including life-saving equipment checks and emergency procedures.
Skills
- Proven experience in maritime vessel operation as a captain.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of vessel systems, rigging techniques, and maintenance procedures.
- Excellent management skills to oversee crew performance and operational logistics effectively.
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues swiftly and perform basic repairs as needed.
- Knowledge of safety protocols, navigation laws, and emergency response procedures specific to watercraft operation.

Pay: $40.00 per hour
