Position Summary
As a Residential HVAC Service Technician, you'll diagnose, repair, service, and maintain residential heating and cooling systems while delivering an exceptional customer experience. You'll identify equipment issues, perform quality repairs, and help homeowners make informed decisions regarding the comfort and performance of their HVAC systems.
This position is ideal for a technician who enjoys working independently, takes pride in solving mechanical and electrical problems, and wants to continue growing with a company that values professionalism and quality workmanship.
Schedule
Monday - Friday 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM
Additional overtime and participation in an on-call rotation may be required during peak heating and cooling seasons.
Primary Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair residential heating and air conditioning systems

Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and system performance evaluations

Troubleshoot electrical, refrigeration, airflow, and mechanical system issues

Service furnaces, heat pumps, air conditioners, mini-split systems, and indoor air quality equipment

Verify proper refrigerant charge, airflow, electrical operation, and overall system performance

Clearly explain repair recommendations and maintenance findings to customers

Complete accurate digital work orders and service documentation

Maintain inventory, tools, and cleanliness of assigned company vehicle

Ensure all work complies with manufacturer specifications, local codes, and company quality standards

Follow all company safety policies and industry best practices

Participate in ongoing technical training to stay current with industry advancements
Minimum Qualifications
-
Minimum 2 years of residential HVAC service experience

EPA Universal Certification (Required)

Current HVAC industry certifications required (NATE Certification or equivalent preferred)

Valid driver's license with a clean, insurable driving record

Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills

Working knowledge of refrigeration systems, electrical controls, gas furnaces, heat pumps, and airflow principles

Ability to read wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, and manufacturer service literature

Excellent customer service and communication skills

Strong organizational and time management abilities

Ability to work independently while managing multiple service calls

Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in attics, crawl spaces, rooftops, and varying weather conditions
Preferred Qualifications

Commercial HVAC service experience

Refrigeration service and repair experience

Strong electrical troubleshooting background

NATE Certification(s)

Experience servicing multiple HVAC equipment manufacturers

Airflow diagnostics and static pressure testing

Refrigerant recovery, charging, and leak detection

Gas furnace combustion analysis

Experience with digital dispatching and mobile field service software

Ability to accurately identify repair-versus-replacement opportunities
