Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Field Crew Coordinator – Land Surveying to lead and coordinate survey field operations throughout South Florida. This role combines hands-on field surveying expertise with office-based operational leadership. The successful candidate will oversee crew scheduling, project coordination, inventory management, quality control, timelines, and resource planning while supporting field operations when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily activities of survey crews and communicate project updates.
- Ensure crews are informed and prepared for upcoming projects, schedules, and deliverables.
- Monitor project timelines, manpower allocation, and productivity.
- Support boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, construction staking, utility, and as-built surveys.
- Assist with field work during peak periods or labour shortages.
- Manage inventory of survey equipment, vehicles, safety gear, and supplies.
- Coordinate maintenance, calibration, and repair of survey equipment.
- Review field data and ensure compliance with company and Florida surveying standards.
- Maintain timesheets, project records, crew utilization reports, and operational documentation.
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Professional Surveyors, and clients to ensure successful project execution.
- Train, mentor, and support junior survey personnel.
- Promote and enforce job-site safety standards.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 6 years of progressive land surveying experience.
- Experience working in both field surveying and office administration/coordination.
- Strong understanding of survey equipment, procedures, and project workflows.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and related survey software.
- Experience with Trimble, Leica, Carlson, or Topcon equipment.
- Proven experience coordinating multiple crews and survey projects.
- Strong scheduling, organizational, and communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to work outdoors when required.
- Ability to work on-site five days per week.
Preferred Qualifications
- Florida Professional Surveyor & Mapper (PSM) License or Surveyor-in-Training (SIT) designation.
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience.
