DOG DAYCARE ATTENDANT (DROPERATOR)

As a Dogdrop Droperator, your focus day-to-day will be to monitor and manage the dogs in our care in order to ensure the safety and health of the overall group and each individual dog. Part of that care will require keeping the facility clean and orderly on a daily basis.
Droperators may also perform “front desk” duties such as membership sales, member check in/check out, and engaging and positively communicating with members.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain constant vigilance, observing dogs for signs of heightened intensity, aggression, antisocial behavior, illness, rough play, or anxiety. This position requires an individual to be able to walk and stand the entire shift (excluding breaks).
- Engage in continuous redirection of dogs using various methods such as voice commands, treats, toys, sounds, or leads.
- Familiarize yourself with each dog's personality, triggers, and routine to provide effective care.
- Foster seamless communication with team members to ensure alignment on each dog's behavior and requirements. When unavailable to monitor dogs, ensure park coverage as dogs are never to be left unattended.
- Prioritize the safety and health of all dogs, promptly reporting any concerns or observed illnesses to management or member care.
- Manage the energy dynamics of the group, recognizing dogs as pack animals and facilitating individual and collective energy management through ongoing engagement and interaction.
- Assist in evaluating new dogs to assess their suitability for Dogdrop.
- Provide dogs with appropriate breaks and affection.
- Promptly clean up after dogs, maintain facility cleanliness throughout the day, and adhere to outlined cleaning procedures and checklists for your shift.
- Interact with human customers in a kind, respectful, professional, and courteous manner.
- Be able to handle 15 dogs safely of all breeds and sizes
- Check-in/check-out dogs efficiently and with care.
- Provide fun feedback about each dog to parents every day, and to report on anything parents need to know about their dog.
- Engage with parents around daily, weekly, and monthly activities.
- Provide extra attention to our brand new members during their free week and first 90 days.
- Productively communicate with location management, Droperators and Flex team members to ensure everyone is on the same page about each dog and parent's needs and situation.
- Answer any questions parents may have or refer them to the team member who is best suited to help them.
- Introduce new customers to the Good Fit Test process and help make all new customers feel welcomed and cared for.
- Respond to all customer communication in a timely, accurate, caring and professional manner.
- Understand the administrative portal very well so you can help parents with any issues that arise:
- Update and manage member account information
- Help with billing issues
- Report technical issues to our technical support team so they can be resolved
- Assist with Dogdrop retail product sales
- Assist with Dogdrop events to help engage with current members and acquire new ones.
ABOUT YOU
- You have experience interacting with dogs and would never intentionally harm an animal.
- While you adore dogs, you understand the importance of knowing when to show affection and when to withhold it. You're adept at recognizing signs of stress and aggression in dogs and are unafraid to step in and manage their energy and activity.
- You're quick to grab a mop or pick up after a dog (or even 10!) and are proficient in following cleaning protocols and checklists.
- You possess a basic understanding of dog behavior and are eager to learn the Dogdrop approach.
- You can manage your own stress levels in noisy and high-energy environments.
- Given the importance of communication in this role, you excel at working well and effectively communicating with other team members.
- You consistently demonstrate patience and kindness towards both our canine and human members.
- Punctuality, reliability, and respectfulness are hallmarks of your character.

The physical demands of this position include but are not limited to:
- Maintaining prolonged standing (sitting in the dog parks is not allowed).
- Bending at the waist as needed.
- Reaching overhead to access items or equipment.
- Engaging in pushing, pulling, and lifting of equipment or structures.
- Independently lifting objects and dogs weighing over 50 pounds.
