Job Summary
As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for patients by assisting them in achieving their rehabilitation goals. You will work closely with occupational therapists to implement individualized care plans, focusing on improving patients' ability to perform daily activities.
What you’ll do
- Collaborate with occupational therapists to develop and implement effective care plans tailored to each patient’s needs.
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) to promote independence and enhance their quality of life.
- Provide therapy services in outpatient pediatric clinics.
- Utilize your knowledge of anatomy and physiology to support therapeutic interventions and monitor patient progress.
- Engage with pediatric patients, ensuring compassionate and personalized care.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress and treatment outcomes in accordance with medical terminology standards.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare teams to coordinate patient care and address any concerns.
Basic qualifications
- Certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology related to occupational health and rehabilitation.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in pediatric outpatient settings.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Knowledge of best practices for pediatric patients.
