About the team:
The General Facilities Maintenance team ensures the safety, functionality, and upkeep of Walmart’s facilities and equipment. This team performs preventive maintenance, repairs, and inspections on systems including HVAC, plumbing, forklifts, and walkie stackers. Members apply multiple craft skills to maintain high standards of quality and compliance with safety regulations. The team collaborates closely to address maintenance needs promptly, supports continuous improvement, and manages resources efficiently. Their expertise contributes to a safe and well-maintained environment that supports Walmart’s operational goals and commitment to excellence.
What you'll do:
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, maintain, and repair HVAC and refrigeration equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with industry regulations.

Manage refrigerant levels, parts inventory, and procurement to support maintenance and repair activities efficiently.

Compile and report budget information, including warranty claims and cost comparisons, to support financial sustainability.

Conduct inspections and repairs to meet federal, state, and local HVACR codes and safety standards.

Collaborate with management, coworkers, and external service providers to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

Complete required documentation such as work orders, refrigerant logs, and expense reports accurately.

Provide expert guidance on HVACR best practices and support continuous improvement initiatives.
What you'll bring:
- Proven expertise in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems.

Valid HVAC and EPA 608 Technician certifications demonstrating technical proficiency.

Experience managing refrigerant levels, parts inventory, and maintaining compliance with environmental regulations.

The hourly wage range for this position is $23.00 - $45.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Minimum Qualifications: Vocational or Technical Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVAC/R) certification and 2 years experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls OR 4 years experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls or related field. Type I/Type II Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Certification for Refrigerant handling.
