Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that foster early literacy, math skills, physical activity, and social-emotional growth
- Create a safe, inclusive classroom environment that encourages exploration and independence
- Manage daily classroom activities, including circle time, play-based learning, and structured lessons
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about student progress, behavior, and developmental milestones
- Apply behavior management strategies to support positive behavior and emotional regulation among children
- Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and child welfare policies during observations or incidents
- Incorporate special education strategies and early intervention techniques to support diverse learning needs
- Maintain accurate records of student assessments, attendance, and lesson plans in accordance with school policies
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in preschool or daycare settings is highly preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
- Experience developing curriculum tailored to toddler care and preschool-aged children
- Familiarity with classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies
- Knowledge of standardized testing methods used for early assessment purposes is a plus
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required or must be obtained upon hiring
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with parents, colleagues, and administrators
- Experience working within special education or early intervention programs is advantageous
- Previous roles involving childcare, daycare experience, or private school teaching contribute to success in this position
