Responsibilities
- Measure, cut, fabricate, and install glass panels, windows, doors, and other glazing components according to construction plans and schematics
- Read blueprints and technical drawings to interpret specifications for glass installation projects
- Handle glass materials safely using appropriate tools and equipment, ensuring quality control during measurement and installation processes
- Perform caulking, sealing, and finishing work to ensure weatherproofing and aesthetic appeal of installed glass units
- Use power tools and hand tools effectively for fabrication, assembly, and installation tasks on construction sites
- Conduct heavy lifting of glass materials and related components while adhering to safety protocols
- Work with customers and clients and provide exceptional customer service
- Communicate with others in a friendly and respectful manner as to represent our company well
- Troubleshoot and problem solve as needed and utilize Management when appropriate
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of glass materials handling, fabrication techniques, and installation procedures
- Skilled in using hand tools such as saws, drills, levels, measuring tapes, as well as power tools for precise work
- Familiarity with glass installation preferred; window installation, door hanging, fixture installation, remodeling projects, or cabinetry work a plus
- Ability to perform dimensional measurements accurately for quality control purposes
- Construction site experience with a focus on safety standards in handling heavy materials and working at heights if needed
- Effective communication skills
- Positive attitude and friendly demeanor
- Ability to work independently and stay on task
- Basic carpentry skills including trim carpentry, frame carpentry, metal stud framing, drywall finishing or painting are advantageous
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret construction plans and schematics effectively
- Physical capability for heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing or working at heights on scaffolding or ladders
- Handyman experience or background in manufacturing or fabrication is preferred but not required
