Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Live-In Caregiver to provide exceptional in-home care for a client requiring assistance with daily activities and health management. As a Live-In Caregiver, you will be an integral part of the client’s daily routine, offering both medical support and emotional companionship. Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive personal care assistance including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Monitor patient health by observing vital signs, administering medications accurately, and documenting medical records in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems while maintaining patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as toileting, feeding, and mobility to promote independence and well-being
- Support clients with memory care needs including Alzheimer’s disease and dementia by implementing specialized care techniques and ensuring a safe environment
- Perform light housekeeping duties such as cleaning, laundry, meal preparation, and ensuring the home remains safe and comfortable for the client
- Maintain clear communication with healthcare providers regarding patient status, medical documentation, and updates on client progress
- Respond promptly to emergencies by applying first aid or basic life support (BLS) techniques like CPR when needed
Requirements
- Willing to relocate to HILTON HEAD ISLAND SC.
- Proven experience working as a caregiver in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home healthcare settings with geriatric or disabled populations
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration protocols, catheter care, and vital signs monitoring
- Familiarity with home health care regulations including HIPAA standards for patient privacy and confidentiality
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate patient transfer equipment such as Hoyer lifts or patient transfer methods
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications in hospice care or end-of-life support are a plus
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or mental health conditions like Alzheimer’s or dementia is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and collaboration with healthcare teams
- Valid driver’s license preferred if transportation is involved; must be reliable and punctual
