Job Summary
We're seeking a Travel HIM Manager for a six-month contract in beautiful Livingston, Montana. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional who enjoys leading teams, improving processes, and ensuring the highest standards of privacy, compliance, and health information management.
Working a consistent Monday-Friday schedule, you'll oversee the daily operations of the HIM department while serving as the organization's designated Privacy Officer. This leadership role is ideal for someone who is passionate about regulatory compliance, medical record integrity, and building strong relationships across multiple departments.
Assignment Details
- 6-month interim leadership contract
- Monday-Friday
- 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
- Competitive pay: $2,686-$3,446 (up to $1246 of that being untaxed travel stipends, and no state income tax means more in your pocket)
Responsibilities
- Lead the daily operations of the Health Information Management Department, 1.0 FTE
- Oversee medical records, coding, chart completion, release of information, and patient portal workflows
- Serve as the facility's designated Privacy Officer
- Manage HIPAA privacy compliance, investigations, audits, and breach reporting
- Develop and maintain HIM and privacy-related policies and procedures
- Collaborate with leadership, Compliance, IT, Human Resources, Registration, Patient Financial Services, and clinical departments to support organizational goals.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of medical coding experience
- Experience with HIPAA privacy, compliance, and release of information
- Previous HIM leadership experience strongly preferred
- Critical Access Hospital or Rural Health Clinic experience preferred
- Healthcare privacy, compliance, coding, or HIM certification preferred (or willingness to obtain one)
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
