Drafter
As a Drafter, you play a critical role in the organization's operational efficiency and overall financial success by producing accurate, detailed, and production-ready technical drawings. Your work ensures that manufacturing and production teams have the precise specifications, dimensions, and documentation needed to fabricate high-quality products while minimizing errors, delays, and material waste.
In this role, you are responsible for developing comprehensive SolidWorks drawings based on designs and project specifications provided by Project Managers. You will transform conceptual designs into detailed engineering documentation that meets company standards, customer requirements, and manufacturing specifications.
The Drafter collaborates closely with Project Managers, the Production Manager, Programming Engineers, Manufacturing Personnel, and other cross-functional team members to ensure drawings are complete, technically accurate, and optimized for production. This includes reviewing project requirements, incorporating design revisions, verifying measurements and tolerances, and ensuring all documentation supports efficient manufacturing processes.
Success in this position requires strong attention to detail, technical proficiency with SolidWorks, effective communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines. The Drafter contributes directly to the successful execution of projects by helping ensure products are manufactured accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with quality standards.
Duties
Overview
- Create preliminary design sketches for conceptual analysis
- Create engineering drawings and designs for production and manufacturing
- Create design specifications, documentation, and material lists
- Prepare complete documentation packages for engineers and production staff
- Verify drawings are correct to specifications, codes, and other regulations
- Developing technical reports for engineers
- Assist estimating material and production costs for designs
- Coordinate professionally with other employees and production manager to advise and engage with colleagues for upstream and downstream quality issues
Experience
- Ability to operate computer-aided design (CAD) software and manual drafting workstations
- Ability to multitask and manage several projects at a time
- Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Interpersonal skills to work within a team, taking direction from Project Managers, Production
- Manager, and Engineers
- Time management skills to complete error-free work within the required timeframe
- Communication skills with an emphasis on reading and writing for creating documentation and reports
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to develop creative solutions
- Mechanical aptitude will be vital for success
- General computer skills such as MS Office

Pay: $24.84 - $30.00 per hour
