Job Title - Academic Success & Learning Strategies Aide
Description
7th Grade Academic Success Teacher (fall semester): Teaches students the skills needed to succeed in junior high, including organization, study habits, goal setting, and the use of school programs and technology. Helps students build confidence, responsibility, and readiness for high school. Learning Strategies period (spring semester) is designed to provide a quiet environment for students to study and work on assignments from other classes. As the supervisor of these classes, you will be expected to establish and maintain a positive learning environment that has high behavior expectations, maintain student attendance and grading records, and communicate with parents, teachers, students, and faculty.
Essential Job Functions

Monitors student behavior for the purpose of ensuring a proper learning environment for students.

Supervises assigned students within the classroom during regular school hours.

Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

Maintains attendance and grades for students enrolled.

Tutors students on assigned class work for the purpose of providing ongoing support in the completion of work assignments.

Maintains high standards of education; shows interest in a student's progress; and encourages critical-thinking, analytical and creativity skills.

Needs to be patient, kind, and fair to students.
Additional Duties: Perform any other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications Profile:
Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:

Must be a minimum of 21 years or older.

High School diploma or equivalent.
-
Prior successful clerical experience preferred.
Contract:
29 hours per week
Support Professional Employees Salary Schedule, Level E1
Non-benefit eligible
