Responsibilities
- Safely operate various heavy equipment including forklifts, reach trucks, Hi-Lo, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and manual handling tools to load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse.
- Manage shipping and receiving processes by accurately picking orders using <PERSON> pick systems and preparing items for dispatch.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through proper stock rotation, cycle counting, and updating warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and perform basic repairs or notify maintenance for mechanical issues to ensure optimal operation.
- Assist with warehouse distribution tasks such as organizing storage areas, stacking pallets safely, and ensuring compliance with OSHA safety standards in production environments.
- Support warehouse supervision by adhering to safety protocols during heavy lifting and materials handling activities.
- Participate in manual handling tasks that require physical strength while following safety standards to prevent injuries.
Skills
- Proven experience operating forklifts, reach trucks, Hi-Lo’s, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment within a warehouse setting.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and order picking procedures to ensure accurate inventory control.
- Familiarity with shipping & receiving processes along with materials handling best practices.
- Mechanical knowledge for basic equipment repair and troubleshooting issues promptly.
- Understanding of safety standards in production environments including OSHA regulations to promote a safe workplace.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining proper manual handling techniques.
- Basic math skills for inventory counts, measurements, and order calculations.
