Moore & Van Allen PLLC, a dynamic and fast-growing full-service law firm of more than 400 attorneys and professionals, is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Practice Coordinator to support the day-to-day administrative and operational functions of our Bankruptcy & Restructuring Practice Group. In this role, you will work closely with practice group leadership and business support teams to help execute strategic initiatives, coordinate activities, and drive operational excellence across the practice.
What You'll Do
Strategic Planning & Execution
- Support the execution of practice group initiatives aligned with firm and practice objectives.
- Coordinate agendas, materials, meeting logistics, and follow-up action items for practice group meetings.
- Assist with projects and cross-functional initiatives in partnership with business support teams.
Talent Management & Attorney Development
- Assist team leaders and attorneys to coordinate staffing and track assignments.
- Monitor workload distribution and support equitable allocation of work across the team.
- Assist with recruiting coordination and onboarding activities for new attorneys.
- Support performance review and professional development processes by gathering and organizing relevant feedback.
Education & Training
- Coordinate logistics for attorney training programs, CLE sessions, and professional development initiatives.
- Maintain training materials and track participation and completion records.
- Support administration of advisors or mentoring programs.
- Collect and organize feedback to support continuous improvement efforts.
Business Development & Marketing Support
- Collaborate with the Marketing & Business Development team to coordinate events, rankings submissions, RFPs, and other marketing initiatives.
- Assist in compiling client, industry, and market information to support business development efforts.
- Track and report on business development activities and initiatives.
Operations & Process Improvement
- Monitor assignments, workflows, and ongoing practice group activities.
- Gather data and identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Help facilitate collaboration across offices and departments.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Law, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in legal practice management or a related role.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
- Ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively across teams and departments.
Preferred
- Previous experience in a law firm or professional services environment.
- Exposure to legal operations, human resources, recruiting, or business development functions.
- Experience supporting cross-functional initiatives and process improvement efforts.
Physical Requirements:
- The work is primarily sedentary.
- It requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
- The work requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
- The work at times requires bending, squatting, and reaching, with the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull light weights.
