We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior HVAC Technician to join our dynamic team. This role involves overseeing the installation, maintenance, and repair of complex heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and mechanical systems across diverse commercial and industrial settings. The ideal candidate will possess extensive technical expertise, including HVAC system diagnostics, schematics interpretation, electrical diagnostics, plumbing, and building automation systems. As a senior member of the team, you will lead service operations, troubleshoot equipment issues efficiently, and ensure optimal system performance while providing exceptional customer service. Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive HVAC system repairs, maintenance, and troubleshooting on a variety of equipment including boilers, air conditioning units, refrigeration systems, and mechanical systems.
- Install new HVAC systems in accordance with design specifications and schematics; ensure compliance with safety standards and building codes.
- Diagnose electrical issues using tools such as ohmmeters and electrical diagnostics equipment; resolve electrical system faults effectively.
- Read and interpret technical schematics, wiring diagrams, and HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration) blueprints to facilitate accurate repairs and installations.
- Conduct plumbing work related to HVAC systems; repair or replace piping components as needed.
- Maintain building automation systems (BAS) for optimal control of HVAC operations; troubleshoot control issues promptly.
- Utilize hand tools and mechanical systems repair techniques to ensure reliable operation of all equipment.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating clearly with clients regarding system status and maintenance needs.
- Adhere to EPA regulations for refrigerant handling; perform refrigerant recovery and recharge procedures safely.
- Lead or assist in projects involving HVAC design modifications or upgrades; collaborate with construction teams for seamless integration.
- Maintain detailed service records; document work performed for future reference and compliance purposes.
- Support ongoing training initiatives to stay current with industry standards and technological advancements.
Experience
- Proven construction experience involving HVAC system installation and mechanical systems setup.
- Extensive service technician experience with a strong background in HVAC/R troubleshooting and repair.
- Proficiency in reading schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals related to HVAC systems.
- Demonstrated knowledge of HVAC design principles, building automation systems, electrical diagnostics, plumbing, refrigeration cycles, and boiler operation.
- Hands-on experience with electrical testing tools such as ohmmeters; ability to diagnose electrical faults accurately.
- Familiarity with HVAC system maintenance routines as well as emergency repairs under tight deadlines.
- Strong mechanical knowledge encompassing equipment troubleshooting across various brands and models.
- Valid driver’s license suitable for operating company vehicles safely (<PERSON> driver or equivalent).
- Ability to work independently or within a team environment while maintaining high safety standards.
- Excellent communication skills coupled with a professional approach to customer interactions.
