Role Overview:
BEPC is seeking a Scientist I to support our client’s innovative research in bioconjugation and lipid nanoparticle (LNP) development. This hands-on laboratory role focuses on the design, preparation, and characterization of ligand conjugates and targeted LNP systems. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in bioconjugation chemistry, analytical techniques, and formulation development, while contributing to SOP authorship and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, synthesize, and characterize ligand conjugates and targeted lipid nanoparticles
- Perform bioconjugation reactions and optimize processes based on reaction kinetics
- Develop and formulate buffers for conjugation and nanoparticle systems
- Conduct LNP characterization using analytical techniques such as RiboGreen, Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS), and Zeta potential
- Support development and execution of analytical assays
- Document experimental procedures and contribute to SOP writing
- Maintain accurate experimental records and ensure reproducibility of results
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project goals and timelines
Qualifications:
- MS with 2+ years or BS with 5+ years in pharmaceutical sciences, bioengineering, chemical engineering, chemistry, or related field
- Strong hands-on experience in bioconjugation methodologies and process optimization
- Knowledge of biomolecular reaction kinetics
- Experience with lipid nanoparticle (LNP) formulation and characterization
- Familiarity with analytical techniques including RiboGreen, DLS, and Zeta potential
- Prior experience with Antibody-Drug Conjugates (ADC) development preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Prism or JMP is a plus
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to generate consistent, high-quality data
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Contract Details:
- Duration: 6-month contract
- Schedule: Monday through Friday
- Hours: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM PT
- Location: Fully onsite in San Diego, CA
