Duties
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are ready for patient care.
- Take and develop X-ray images using advanced medical imaging equipment while adhering to strict infection control and aseptic techniques.
- Manage patient records accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Perform vital signs assessments and document medical history to support comprehensive patient care.
- Support front desk operations by acting as a dental receptionist—scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing patient communications.
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment following infection control protocols and anatomy knowledge to ensure safety for patients and staff.
- Utilize 3D scanners and other digital tools for precise dental impressions when necessary.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting with familiarity in general dentistry procedures.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding practices related to dental records management.
- Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic is highly preferred.
- Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while maintaining strict infection control standards.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages, including pediatrics.
- Knowledge of aseptic technique, anatomy, infection control practices, and dental assisting best practices.
- Certification in chairside assisting is preferred; ongoing training in pediatric dentistry or prosthodontics is a plus.
- Ability to work efficiently in four-handed dentistry setups alongside dentists and hygienists for optimal patient care delivery. Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
