Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Mortgage Manager to lead our mortgage lending operations and deliver exceptional service to our members. Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the mortgage department and assigned teams
- Lead, coach, and develop loan officers and processing staff to achieve performance goals
- Review and approve mortgage loan applications within delegated authority
- Issue underwriting approvals, suspensions, or denials with appropriate documentation.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and company lending regulations, including underwriting standards
- Monitor loan pipeline, productivity, and key performance metrics
- Resolve escalated client issues and manage complex loan situations
- Build and maintain relationships with real estate agents, brokers, and strategic partners
- Analyze financial data, credit reports, and risk factors to support sound lending decisions
- Ensure adherence to all NCUA laws, rules, regulations, and internal policies to mitigate risk and uphold ethical standards
- Prepare and present performance reports and trend analysis to senior management
- Underwrite files
- Perform other duties as assigned
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or a related field (preferred) OR
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Credit Union mortgage lending
- At least 2 years of supervisory or management experience
- Strong knowledge of Credit Union underwriting guidelines and loan products
- Solid understanding of lending laws, regulatory compliance, and risk management
