American Traveler is hiring a RN for an Orthopedic unit position requiring an active IL license and 1-2 years of clinical experience in postop and med/surg care.
-
Work in a Level 1 Trauma acute care hospital on the Orthopedic unit (6 Ortho)
-
43-bed unit with all private rooms
-
Patient population includes a wide variety of medical surgical, postoperative orthopedic, and trauma cases with fractures
-
Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4-5 on 12-hour days and 1:5-6 on 12-hour nights

PCT support available at a 1:7-8 ratio

Uses EPIC EMR
-
RT equipment on unit includes CPAP and heated high flow as needed, with RNs troubleshooting only
-
House-wide telemetry monitoring with Philips monitors
-
12-hour night shift schedule
-
Every other weekend required, with Saturday/Sunday day shifts and Friday/Saturday night shifts
-
No call or standby requirements
-
Travelers float first when needed, typically to other Med/Surg floors

Active IL RN license required
-
BLS (AHA) certification required
-
Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

1-2 years of postoperative surgical care and general med/surg experience preferred

Primary charge RN present each shift with 24/7 house supervisor support
-
Negative drug screen required for all panels
-
Provide postoperative and general med/surg nursing care to a variety of medical surgical and orthopedic trauma patients

Two-part unit and department specific orientation provided
-
Professional appearance required with any color scrubs permitted; tattoos and piercings must be covered
-
Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are eligible for a reduced local pay rate
