Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced
Low Voltage / Field Service Technician to install, troubleshoot, maintain, and service complex equipment at customer sites across the United States. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in
low-voltage systems, equipment installation, mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, electronics, and PLCs. Experience working with medical or hospital equipment is a plus but not required. This role requires extensive domestic travel with occasional international travel.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, commission, and service low-voltage equipment and systems at customer locations.
- Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs on electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Install, relocate, and remove equipment while ensuring compliance with engineering specifications and safety standards.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, PLC, and electronic control system issues.
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, technical manuals, and engineering drawings.
- Perform system testing, calibration, and functional verification after installation or repair.
- Coordinate with customers, project managers, and technical teams to ensure successful project completion.
- Maintain accurate service reports, installation documentation, and maintenance records.
- Ensure all work complies with company policies and applicable safety regulations.
- Provide professional customer support and technical assistance in the field.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Technical degree or vocational training preferred).
- Proven experience as a Field Service Technician, Low Voltage Technician, or Equipment Installation Technician.
- Strong experience with:
- Low-voltage systems
- Equipment installation and commissioning
- Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting
- PLCs and electronic control systems
- Ability to diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Experience reading electrical schematics and technical documentation.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel extensively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience installing and servicing medical, imaging, laboratory, industrial, or other complex electronic equipment.
- Previous experience working in hospitals or healthcare facilities is beneficial but not required.
- Experience with field service operations involving customer-facing technical support.
- Experience training or mentoring junior technicians is a plus.
Travel Requirements
- Extensive travel throughout the assigned territory, including domestic and international travel.
- Ability to travel for extended periods and maintain a flexible work schedule as business needs require.
