CDL Class A Truck Driver
Summary:
Drives truck with capacity of more than 3 tons, to safely transport rental equipment to and from the dealership, or construction sites by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Be punctual and dependable.
Able to work a rotating on-call weekend schedule
Be able to follow instructions and directions. (verbal and written)
Perform equipment check out and check in procedures for equipment before and after rentals.
Inspect and service rental equipment (clean and wash equipment, clean filter, oil changes, grease and lube equipment as needed)
Load and unload customers with various equipment. (mowers, tractors, excavators, skid steers, etc.)
Maintain a clean and efficient work area.
Load and secure various types of equipment to be delivered in a safe and punctual fashion.
Teamwork and customer service skills
Computer skills and counter sales experience preferred
Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water and services, as necessary.
Inspects the condition of equipment to be delivered prior to being loaded on truck.
Report’s shortages or problems to the Service Manager or the Salesperson.
Obtains necessary signatures and receipts as required by delivery instructions.
Collects payment for goods delivered if applicable.
Loads and unloads truck.
Gives basic instructions to the customer regarding how to operate the equipment.
Performs emergency roadside repairs such as changing tires, installing light bulbs, tire chains.
Fastens chains, straps or binders around items to secure cargo during transit.
Checks with dealership before leaving any location for instructions regarding additional jobs, returned loads, or special instructions.
Keeps Texas Department of Transportation required registration and permits current.
Knowledge of DOT Regulations
Obeys traffic laws and complies with Texas Department of Transportation requirements regarding load capacity, load limits, height and weight of truck.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities you may rely on:
- Previous experience driving, loading and unloading rental equipment
- Mechanical skills to troubleshoot construction equipment
- Inside counter sales experience – customer service
- Attention to detail and excellent communication skills
- Bi-lingual (Spanish) preferred
Related experience may include experience as a Class “A” CDL License Driver, Roll-Back Driver, Flatbed Driver, F350 truck & goose neck trailer driver.

Pay: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour
