Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and energetic Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty equipment, including trucks, construction machinery, and industrial vehicles. Your expertise will ensure that all equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably. Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, air brakes, suspension components, and electrical systems using schematics and technical manuals.
- Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, shocks & struts replacement, and wheel alignments to ensure optimal vehicle performance.
- Fabricate and modify equipment parts or components as needed using power tools, welding equipment, and hand tools to meet specific operational requirements.
- Operate heavy machinery including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and other farm or industrial equipment to troubleshoot issues or assist in repairs.
- Interpret technical schematics and mechanical diagrams to accurately diagnose problems and execute repairs efficiently.
- Perform vehicle inspections for safety compliance and prepare detailed reports on repair procedures performed.
- Assist with assembly, disassembly, and testing of complex equipment or machinery to ensure proper functioning after repairs.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or Diesel Technician in a dealership or industrial setting.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, HVAC systems, and electrical systems.
- Hands-on experience with automotive diagnostics tools and schematics interpretation.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and heavy lifting procedures.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments while maintaining safety standards.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail for accurate diagnosis and repair of complex mechanical issues.
- Valid certifications related to heavy truck repair, diesel mechanics, air brake systems, or similar credentials are highly preferred.
