CDL Driver – Carpet Transportation & Logistics
Job Summary
ADD BAC is seeking a dependable, safety-focused CDL Driver to transport carpet, flooring materials, and related products to customers, warehouses, distribution centers, and project sites. This role is critical to ensuring products are delivered safely, on time, and in excellent condition. The ideal candidate is experienced in commercial driving, understands DOT regulations, and takes pride in providing reliable service while representing ADD BAC professionally.
As a condition of employment, all CDL Drivers must successfully pass a pre-employment background check, DOT-required drug and alcohol testing, and meet all Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) driver qualification requirements. Drivers are also subject to DOT random drug and alcohol testing and ongoing compliance with all applicable federal regulations throughout their employment.
Day in the Life
No two days at ADD BAC are exactly the same—but every day helps keep our customers supplied and projects moving forward.
Your day typically begins at our Dalton facility with a pre-trip inspection, ensuring your truck, trailer, and equipment are safe, compliant, and ready for the road. You connect with dispatch and warehouse personnel to review delivery schedules, routes, load requirements, and any special instructions for the day's shipments.
From there, you work alongside the warehouse team to load carpet rolls, flooring materials, and related products. Proper loading, securement, and weight distribution are essential to protect product quality and ensure safe transportation.
Once on the road, you're responsible for delivering products safely and efficiently to customers, retailers, installers, warehouses, and distribution facilities. Whether you're making local deliveries or regional runs, you maintain communication with dispatch and provide updates on delivery status and any route changes.
At delivery locations, you'll unload materials using appropriate equipment, verify shipment accuracy, obtain delivery documentation, and ensure customer satisfaction. You may utilize forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material-handling equipment depending on the delivery requirements.
When not on the road, you'll assist with warehouse operations including staging shipments, organizing inventory, loading outbound freight, and preparing materials for future deliveries.
Before ending your day, you'll complete post-trip inspections, DOT logs, electronic logging requirements (when applicable), and all required documentation to ensure compliance and readiness for the next route.
