Job Opening – Shipping & Receiving Coordinator
MTS North America is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented, and highly organized Shipping & Receiving Coordinator to support daily warehouse, inventory, shipping, receiving, and project preparation activities within a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for coordinating inbound and outbound shipments, maintaining inventory accuracy, supporting material flow to production, and ensuring customer projects are properly sorted, staged, kitted, and prepared for assembly, shipment, and installation activities.
The ideal candidate will possess experience in shipping and receiving, inventory control, warehouse operations, forklift operation, and computer-based data entry. Previous experience in automotive manufacturing, assembly, logistics, or project-based manufacturing environments is strongly preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, verify, and process incoming materials, components, tooling, and supplies against packing slips, purchase orders, and project requirements.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Prepare and coordinate outbound shipments to customers, suppliers, installation teams, and service providers.
- Support pre-commissioning and project preparation activities by organizing, verifying, staging, and preparing materials prior to shipment or installation.
- Sort, stage, kit, and organize customer-specific project materials, assemblies, and components to support production schedules and customer requirements.
- Verify project materials against bills of material (BOMs), work orders, packing lists, and customer specifications to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Coordinate material movement between receiving, warehouse, assembly, production, and shipping departments.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and perform inventory transactions within company systems.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate shortages, damaged materials, or discrepancies to management.
- Schedule freight pickups and deliveries with transportation providers and freight carriers.
- Investigate and resolve receiving discrepancies, shipping errors, damaged shipments, inventory variances and quality issues.
- Maintain accurate shipping and receiving documentation including bills of lading, packing slips, receiving records, certifications, and customer paperwork.
- Assist with cycle counts, inventory audits, and physical inventory activities.
- Operate pallet jacks, and material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload trucks while ensuring materials are properly identified, stored, and protected.
- Maintain organized warehouse, staging, and project preparation areas.
- Support assembly and production teams by ensuring materials are available and staged according to project schedules.
- Assist with project tracking, shipment readiness, installation preparation, and customer delivery coordination.
- Utilize company ERP, inventory, and accounting systems to enter receiving transactions, shipment information, inventory updates, and reporting data daily.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on inventory accuracy, warehouse efficiency, and on-time project execution.
- Assist leadership with reporting, administrative support, and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of current experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, logistics, inventory control, project staging, or material coordination preferred.
- Previous automotive manufacturing, assembly, industrial manufacturing, or project-based manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with inventory management systems, ERP software, or computerized inventory control systems.
- Strong computer and data entry skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to prioritize competing responsibilities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Professional communication skills with customers, suppliers, carriers, and internal departments.
- Ability to work independently while supporting team objectives.
Preferred Qualifications
- Forklift certification and material handling experience.
- Experience supporting assembly, manufacturing, or engineered project environments.
- Understanding of inventory control, warehouse operations, and supply chain processes.
- Experience coordinating project materials, kitting, staging, and shipment preparation.
- Knowledge of shipping documentation, freight coordination, and carrier requirements.
- Familiarity with Sage, QuickBooks, or similar ERP systems.
- Understanding of automotive manufacturing operations and production support activities.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Combination office, warehouse, and manufacturing floor environment.
- Frequent exposure to warehouse and production floor conditions, including noise, moving equipment, and material handling activities.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 80 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and operate material handling equipment throughout the workday.
Schedule
- 8–10 Hour Shifts, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekends
