Senior Media Planner
Department: Media Planning & Strategy
Reports To: Director of Media
Location: Fully Remote - must be located in the Eastern Time Zone (U.S.)
Travel: Minimal travel to the Greater Boston, MA area, primarily for in-person team meetings and team events (travel expenses reimbursed by the company)
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern Time
Experience Level: 5+ years in media strategy, planning, and buying

We are seeking a Senior Media Planner to play a pivotal role in our fast-paced healthcare and life sciences marketing agency. You will be responsible for developing and executing innovative media plans that deliver exceptional results for our clients. Your deep understanding of the media landscape, combined with your expertise in various platforms and tools, will enable you to create impactful media campaigns that reach the right patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals at the right time. You must be comfortable with presenting your work to both clients and senior management within the agency.
Responsibilities:
Media Strategy:
- Collaborate with account teams to understand client objectives and develop media strategies that align with their overall marketing goals.
- Conduct thorough research and analysis of target audiences, market trends, and competitive landscapes to inform media planning decisions.
- Identify optimal media channels and platforms for reaching target audiences effectively and efficiently.
- Develop comprehensive media plans that outline budgets, timelines, and performance metrics.
Media Planning:
- Select and negotiate media placements across a variety of channels, including digital (Google Ads, Meta, X, programmatic), traditional (TV, radio, print), and out-of-home (OOH).
- Optimize media plans throughout campaigns to ensure maximum performance and ROI.
- Monitor and analyze campaign performance data to identify opportunities for improvement and make data-driven adjustments to media plans.
Media Buying:
- Execute media buys efficiently and effectively, ensuring optimal placement and pricing.
- Manage media budgets and track expenditures to ensure adherence to client budgets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with media vendors and partners.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with creative teams, account managers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of media plans with overall campaign strategies.
- Share insights and best practices with other members of the media team to foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Client & Senior Management Communication:
- Confidently present media plans, campaign results, and performance reports to clients and senior management, clearly articulating the rationale behind the strategy and tactics employed.
- Proactively communicate with clients and senior management to address any questions or concerns and provide updates on campaign progress.
- Effectively translate complex media data into actionable insights that resonate with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in media strategy, planning, and buying, with a proven track record of success in delivering client results.
- Experience managing live media campaigns and budgets; prior work in healthcare is helpful but not required.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of the media landscape and the latest trends in digital and traditional media.
- Expertise in Google Analytics, Google Ads, Meta, X, programmatic buying, implementation, and OOH media planning.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make data-driven decisions.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Proficiency in media planning and buying software tools.
- Experience in media strategy, planning and buying for life sciences and healthcare preferred.
