Job Summary
We are a Montessori preschool with two campuses and are looking for a full-time Assistant Teacher for our main campus in Valley Glen. The hours are from 8:15 am - 4:15 pm. We are looking for someone who can start as soon as possible.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist primary teacher with activities and instruction
- Help keep learning areas tidy and safe
- Performs general housekeeping tasks
- Provide a welcoming, inclusive learning atmosphere for all students
- Support children with special or individual needs
- Oversees unstructured free play
- Assists with meals, toileting, hand washing
- Attends staff meetings, training meetings, and yearly Back to School Night even if scheduled outside working hours
- Participates in classroom staff meetings to consult on program planning, goal setting and implementation, planning for individual children and to discuss program and working conditions
Job Requirements
- High School Diploma
- Proof of 12 units of ECE or of enrollment in ECE courses
- Experience working with young children in a licensed educational environment
- A passion for early childhood education and helping children grow in positive ways
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong team player and organizational abilities
Preferred
- First Aid and CPR certification
