Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate transportation routes for delivery vans, straight trucks, tractor-trailers, and passenger vehicles to maximize efficiency and meet delivery deadlines.
- Manage maritime crew communications, including vessel maintenance schedules and lifeboat handling procedures, ensuring compliance with port State Control regulations.
- Oversee vehicle inspections, maintenance documentation, and minor mechanical repairs to maintain fleet reliability and safety standards.
- Lead crew management efforts by scheduling drivers, managing driver shortages, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols during freight operations.
- Negotiate freight rates with carriers and vendors to secure cost-effective transportation solutions while maintaining high service quality.
- Optimize logistics routes considering traffic conditions, port schedules, and warehouse logistics management to reduce delays and fuel consumption.
- Ensure compliance with maritime safety standards, vessel maintenance protocols, ship steering systems operation, and cargo load securement procedures during all transport activities.
Skills
- Fluent in English with excellent communication skills; multilingual abilities are a plus for maritime crew communication.
- Strong knowledge of route optimization techniques and traffic conditions affecting logistics planning.
- Experience in freight rate negotiation, warehouse logistics management, and vehicle inspections.
- Ability to perform minor mechanical vehicle repairs and maintain detailed vehicle maintenance documentation.
- Familiarity with port State Control regulations, vessel maintenance practices, and ship steering systems operation.
- Proven skills in crew management, driver shortage management, and safety protocol enforcement across diverse transportation modes.
