Job description:
Role and Responsibilities
- Welcome patients warmly, guide check in process
- Book and modify patient appointments
- Verify patient insurance coverage, collect copays/balances
- Escort patients to room; prepare patients for examinations
- Utilize CMA training to assess caller urgency and route messages to staff
- Input accurate health data into EHR system while strictly adhering to HIPPA privacy rules
- Record height/weight and blood pressure for well visits
- Ask parent or patient about chief complaint and document reason for visit
- Perform vision and hearing screening as necessary
- Assist doctor as needed with sick visits, as well as well-child visits, school or camp physicals, and paperwork preparation as needed
- Clean and restock rooms and equipment, prepare patient rooms
- Assist with immunizations and procedures as needed
- Assist with referrals as needed
Education Requirements
Qualifications, Skills and Requirements
- Active North Carolina CMA license
- 2 or more years of clinical experience preferred
- Minimum 1 year experience working in outpatient pediatric clinic required
- Proficiency in medical documentation and use of technology
- Strong communication, inter-personal and problem solving skills
