Job Summary
We are seeking a professional and customer-focused Service Advisor to join Christian Brothers Automotive Norwalk team. The Service Advisor acts as the primary point of contact for customers requiring vehicle maintenance and repairs, ensuring a seamless experience from vehicle check-in to completion. This role requires strong automotive knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple service requests efficiently. The ideal candidate will have dealership experience and a solid understanding of auto service management, diagnostics, and repair processes.
Duties
- Greet customers promptly and professionally, establishing rapport and understanding their vehicle concerns
- Write detailed service estimates and repair orders using automotive service writing systems
- Communicate effectively with technicians regarding vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and estimated timelines
- Upsell additional services or repairs that meet customer needs while maintaining transparency and trust
- Manage vehicle check-in and check-out processes, ensuring accurate documentation of services performed
- Handle cash transactions and process payments accurately
- Coordinate with parts department for availability of necessary components
- Follow up with customers on vehicle progress and ensure satisfaction upon completion of services
- Maintain thorough knowledge of automotive repair procedures including transmissions, oil changes, brake repair, suspension, tire service, diesel engine repair, shocks & struts, alignments, air brake systems, and auto body repairs
Skills
- Proven dealership experience with auto service management and customer relations
- Strong automotive diagnostics skills combined with mechanical knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repairs
- Ability to upsell services effectively while prioritizing customer needs
- Experience in auto estimating, service writing, and automotive repair procedures
- Knowledge of various systems including transmissions, oil changes, brake systems, suspensions, tire services, diesel engines, shocks & struts, alignments, air brakes, and auto body work
- Excellent customer service skills with a professional demeanor
- Sales experience related to automobile sales or service packages is a plus
- Mechanical experience or background as a service technician is advantageous
- Cash handling proficiency with attention to accuracy and integrity

Pay: $59,005.23 - $71,060.07 per year
