Job Summary
Are you passionate about helping seniors regain their independence and improve their quality of life? Edgewater Skilled Nursing Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Restorative Nursing Assistant (RNA) to join our clinical team.
While you will maintain your CNA certification and occasionally support standard floor duties, your primary daily focus will be executing specialized restorative programs. You will work closely with our therapy and nursing teams to help residents maintain and restore their physical, mental, and psychosocial functioning.
Primary Responsibilities (RNA Focus)
- Implement Restorative Programs: Guide and assist residents with specific restorative plans, including range of motion (ROM) exercises, ambulation tracking, and transfer training.
- Promote Independence: Assist and encourage residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) designed to maintain their highest level of independence, including specialized feeding programs and self-care retraining.
- Splint & Brace Care: Apply, monitor, and document the use of assistive devices, splints, and braces as prescribed by the therapy team.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate, timely daily logs of residents' progress, participation, and response to restorative interventions in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Collaborative Care: Report any significant changes in a resident’s physical condition, skin integrity, or behavioral status directly to the Restorative Nurse Coordinator, Charge Nurse, or therapy team.
- Standard CNA Support: Provide high-quality certified nursing assistant care (hygiene, turning/positioning, answering call lights) as needed or assigned during shifts.
Job Schedule
This position is scheduled on a 4-2 rotation. You will work 4 days, have the next 2 days off, work the next 4 days, and so on.
Qualifications & Skills
- Certification: Active and unencumbered Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of California.
- Specialized Training: RNA certification required, with prior RNA experience preferred but not required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of CNA experience in a skilled nursing facility (SNF) or long-term care setting preferred. Additional RNA experience preferred.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift, push, pull, and move residents safely using proper body mechanics and assistive lift equipment.
- Soft Skills: High emotional intelligence, extreme patience, and a genuine passion for rehabilitation and geriatric care.

Pay: From $22.00 per hour
