Our properties are mostly older, class C garden-style apartment complexes, ranging from small communities to large complexes with over 100 units.
Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated HVAC Mini-Split Installation Technician to join our dynamic team. This role focuses on installing, maintaining, and repairing ductless mini-split heating and cooling systems across our property portfolio. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm, technical expertise, design architecture for greenfield installs, and a proactive approach to ensure our residents enjoy reliable comfort in their homes.
Duties
- Install, troubleshoot, and service mini-split HVAC systems efficiently and safely according to manufacturer specifications and industry standards
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and HVAC design plans to ensure precise installation and repairs
- Conduct routine maintenance on HVAC equipment, including refrigerant recharges, filter replacements, and system diagnostics
- Diagnose mechanical issues using tools such as ohmmeters and refrigeration gauges; perform necessary repairs or replacements
- Collaborate with property management to coordinate installation schedules and ensure minimal disruption to residents
- Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and inspection reports for all completed work
- Assist with plumbing or electrical tasks related to HVAC systems when required
- Aid in the design of building retro fits from chillers and window units to ductless mini-splits.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an HVAC service technician with a focus on mini-split systems or similar ductless units
- Strong mechanical knowledge including refrigeration principles, air conditioning systems, and HVAC design concepts
- Ability to read schematics, technical diagrams, and property layouts effectively
- Experience with plumbing, refrigeration (including ammonia refrigeration), welding, and equipment repair is highly desirable
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record;
- Familiarity with field service procedures, appliance repair, property maintenance tasks, and boiler or mechanic experience is a plus
- Knowledge of HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning / Refrigeration) systems and electrical troubleshooting tools such as ohmmeters
