Job Summary
Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Phlebotomist, where you will play a vital role in collecting and processing blood specimens to support accurate diagnosis and patient care. Duties
- Perform blood collection via venipuncture and capillary puncture using aseptic technique to ensure specimen integrity
- Prepare, label, and process specimens accurately for laboratory testing in accordance with established protocols
- Assist patients by explaining procedures, ensuring comfort, and providing excellent patient service throughout the collection process
- Maintain proper documentation within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems, including data entry and specimen tracking
- Monitor vital signs and assess patient physiology when necessary, especially for geriatrics and pediatric populations
- Follow strict laboratory procedures and safety guidelines, including proper specimen handling and biohazard precautions
- Support laboratory operations by performing routine tasks such as inventory management, equipment sterilization, and maintaining a clean work environment
Experience
- Prior experience in medical laboratory work or clinical setting preferred; familiarity with laboratory techniques and procedures essential
- Proven ability to perform venipuncture and blood sampling efficiently while adhering to aseptic techniques
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to blood collection and patient care
- Experience working with diverse patient populations including pediatrics and geriatrics is highly desirable
- Hands-on experience with hospital or healthcare facility environments is a plus
- Competency in using EMR/EHR systems for data entry, specimen documentation, and record keeping
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) required or obtainable upon employment
