INVENTORY CONTROL SPECIALIST
JOB SUMMARY: Maintain the integrity of the company’s inventory which involves tracking and managing stock levels, conducting regular audits, resolving discrepancies and coordinating with purchasing, finance and sales departments to ensure plants are available when needed. Use inventory management software to monitor plant movements, generate reports, and assist with forecasting future inventory needs. Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills are essential along with attention to detail and familiarity with supply chain procedures. This role contributes directly to operational efficiency, cost control, and customer satisfaction by ensuring smooth inventory flow and accurate record-keeping.

SUPERVISES: None
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
· Perform routine physical cycle counts and audits.
· Reconcile inventory discrepancies.
· Update inventory databases and software.
· Identify damaged, dead or obsolete plant material.
· Grade plant material for sales.
· Other duties as assigned.
SPECIAL SKILLS/TRAINING:
· Proficiency with common data entry software such as Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets and inventory management systems (SAP, Oracle, Sage 100, Plant-X, etc.).
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Attention to detail to identify inconsistencies or duplicates and correct errors during entry.
· Strong organizational skills for managing multiple data sets, spreadsheets or entry queues.
· Strong written and oral communication skills.
· Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to coordinate and manage multiple tasks.
· Ability to handle confidential information.
· Excellent organization and time management skills.
· Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, etc.).
· Familiarity with plant material (trees, shrubs, perennials, etc.).
· The ability to work well under pressure and be flexible in varying situations.
· The ability to perform basic math functions as add, subtract, multiply and divide and data analysis abilities.
· Bilingual English and Spanish.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:
· High School graduate or equivalent.
· Minimum 5 years’ experience in inventory control.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Frequent standing, sitting, walking and bending.
· Extensive use of computers, telephones, and other office equipment.
· Continuous talking and listening.
· Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
· Mix of indoor and outdoor work environment.
Pay: $21.50 - $24.50 per hour
