Horizon House, a non-profit organization, has been widely recognized for its services as a provider of community-based behavioral health, intellectual disabled and homeless services in Eastern Pennsylvania and the state of Delaware. Each year, Horizon House provides a continuum of services at over 100 sites to over 4,500 adults with psychiatric or developmental disabilities, drug and alcohol addictions, and/or homelessness. Currently, we are seeking a Full-time Director Clinical & Behavioral Services to work in our Developmental Services Division Split.
Purpose:
Provide ongoing assessment and intervention to individuals with a diagnosis of intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental health symptoms and maladaptive behaviors using individual and group processing formats.
Be expected to supervise and conduct effective group modalities, including therapy/counseling, psycho-education, and skill development while actively supporting Rehabilitation Counselors’ role as group co-facilitators.
Provide supervision of Director Service Coordination, Nursing Leadership, interns from area academic entities and oversight of external clinicians supporting DS participants
Be expected to provide leadership in planning and implementing responses to emergent behavioral crisis situations, including prevention/intervention strategies, coordination of necessary first responder and/or offsite services (e.g., psychiatric hospitalizations, crisis respite).
Hybrid work with expectation of also traveling to points of service delivery throughout SE Pennsylvania
Experience in use of Electronic Health Record, BI Microsoft Office Suite for record keeping, form development, and data base design and maintenance.
Ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and interdisciplinary teams
Supervision received:
- Receives general supervision from the Vice President, Developmental Services
Supervision exercised:
- Provides supervision to Director Service Coordination and Clinical Nurse Supervisor
- Oversees the supervision of all clinicians involved with in-house services provided by external providers.
Qualifications:
The candidate selected for the position of Director of Clinical & Behavioral Services in the Developmental Services Division of Horizon House will:
Have a strong background in cognitive and behavioral psychology; experience with working with and leading multi-disciplinary teams
Have received MA, MS, MSW with licensure; internship or doctoral degree from an APA-accredited clinical psychology program and have completed an APA-approved clinical psychology
A current Pennsylvania license in clinical psychology; MSW licensure or Board Certified Behavior Analyst

A minimum of 6 years’ experience in management and clinical leadership with implementation of evidence based practices, program development, department budget, compliance and quality management and building and supervising teams, and project management.
Oversee service coordination for all individuals served in Developmental Services Division

Analyzes data to drive clinical decision and service revisions
Support development of both clinical and direct support professionals through training and consultation
has demonstrated the capacity to pursue new business development to expand and to improve existing services and to respond to changing needs of individuals served.
Be a proven team player having managerial service experience in assuring compliance with state regulations and agency policies and procedures
Scope:
- Frequent listening, talking and writing
- Requires the ability to lift, carry, fold, kneel, reach, stack, stoop, go up and down stairs, and bend which may include direct intervention with participants.
- Must be available for scheduled emergency on-call service and will be required to carry a mobile phone during regularly scheduled working hours and scheduled on-call service. As essential personnel, may be required to report to work during emergencies including inclement weather.
- Varied work hours, including occasional weekend presence.
- Provide intervention with emergency client situations.
