About the Job/Company:
Lynchburg Music Center is looking to fill a sales staff position on our team. We strive to serve our community's music needs, and pride ourselves in our relationships with our customer base. As such, personality is equally as important to us as musical know-how, if not more so. As a small family-owned business, the ideal candidate for us would be one who meshes well with our current staff, and has the capacity to deal with customers in a friendly, courteous manner.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conducting sales transactions, rental contracts, and other related transactions in a customer facing context.
- Communicating with customers, answering phone calls, and helping customers on the salesfloor.
- Working with customers to achieve solutions to their issues, and provide a friendly, familiar, small-business shopping experience.
- Ensuring products are properly stocked.
- Monitoring customer activity to ensure products remain undamaged.
- Basic data collection/entry for transactions, contracts, repair tickets, etc.
- Candidate will be expected to help maintaining cleanliness and order of all departments.
Basic Qualifications/Skills:
- Adaptability and initiative are important aspects of this position, as your tasks may change from day to day.
- Strong negotiation and customer relations skills.
- Ability to appear professional, and communicate effectively.
- Product knowledge and general music knowledge is preferred, but not a requirement for this position.
- The ability to quickly learn product information is strongly recommended, in order to meet customer expectations.
- Previous sales experience is preferred.
