Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure residents’ health and well-being
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed schedules and document all medication administration in electronic medical record (EMR) systems
- Provide specialized care for individuals with Intellectual Disabilities
- Support residents during meal preparation, feeding, and ensuring proper nutrition while maintaining a clean and safe environment
- Assist with transportation needs by driving residents to appointments or community activities in compliance with safety protocols
- Maintain cleanliness of living areas, common spaces, and assist with light housekeeping tasks to promote a hygienic environment
Requirements
- Prior experience in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home & community care environments is highly preferred
- Knowledge of first aid procedures and emergency response protocols
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities requiring personalized support
- Ability to work effectively in group home settings or personal care homes with a focus on resident safety and comfort
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members and engage positively with residents
- Valid driver’s license for driving responsibilities; reliable transportation is essential
- Willingness to obtain certifications such as CPR/First Aid if not already held
