KCUC is a large urology, oncology and radiation private medical practice seeking a Phlebotomist. This role focuses on performing safe and accurate venipuncture and blood draws to support diagnostic testing and patient care. The phlebotomist ensures high standards of patient comfort, safety, and specimen integrity throughout the collection process. This phlebotomy position is a split-office role, requiring the selected candidate to work at two KCUC locations, with a schedule of three days per week at one office, and two days per week at the other office.
Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and blood draws accurately and safely according to established procedures.
- Prepare patients for blood collection by confirming identity, explaining the procedure, and addressing questions or concerns.
- Label and handle blood specimens carefully to maintain accuracy and prevent contamination or mix-ups.
- Follow infection control and safety protocols during all blood collection activities.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure equipment is used and stored properly.
- Document procedures and specimen information clearly and accurately in accordance with facility guidelines.
- Essential Skills
- At least 1 year of experience performing venipuncture and blood draws.
- Proficiency in venipuncture techniques and safe blood collection practices.
- Ability to follow detailed clinical and safety procedures consistently.
- Strong attention to detail when labeling, handling, and documenting specimens.
- Effective communication skills to interact professionally with patients and clinical staff.
Additional Skills & QualificationsWork EnvironmentThe phlebotomist works in a clinical or laboratory environment that involves frequent patient interaction and regular handling of blood specimens. The role requires strict adherence to infection control standards, proper use of phlebotomy equipment, and consistent compliance with safety procedures. Work may involve standing for extended periods, moving between patient areas and collection stations, and maintaining a professional appearance in accordance with facility guidelines.
- Experience working in a clinical, laboratory, or healthcare setting is beneficial.
- Demonstrated ability to remain calm and professional when working with anxious or nervous patients.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple blood draw requests efficiently.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
