Responsibilities
- Safely operate garbage trucks according to route schedules and traffic laws
- Load, unload, and transport waste materials while adhering to hazardous materials regulations and safety protocols
- Collect waste from designated residential, commercial, or municipal sites following established routes and procedures
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicles to ensure mechanical soundness and compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations
- Maintain accurate logs of routes driven, loads collected, and vehicle maintenance reports in accordance with state transportation regulations
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and team members regarding route updates or issues encountered during collection
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing questions or concerns from residents or business owners professionally and courteously
Requirements
- Valid CDL Class A or Class B with appropriate endorsements for air brake systems and hazardous materials
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws, DOT regulations, and safety protocol adherence for outdoor work environments
- Mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle inspections and troubleshoot minor issues
- Ability to lift heavy loads safely and perform manual lifting tasks regularly during route operations
- Excellent driving skills with a focus on defensive driving techniques in urban or suburban settings
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record demonstrating safe driving habits

Pay: $27.00 - $30.00 per hour
