Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Assistant Store Manager - Rental Manager to join our dynamic team. - Greet and assist customers in a positive, approachable manner. Answer questions and resolve customer concerns. Advise customers on solutions to projects and problems with add on sales when appropriate.

- Assist and support the General Manager in all aspects of store operations and in supporting and executing priority tasks.
- Perform all tasks related to operation of Annex building including leading and supervising shop and rental employees, working rental contracts, and repair estimates and service orders.
- Assist Store Manager and Office Manager with administrative tasks. These can include: order stock, record keeping, running and analyzing reports, payroll, scheduling, register balancing, and deposits, etc.
- Serve as a leader within the store and to other team members by modeling company values, supporting daily operations, and assisting with the training and development of new team members.
- Responsible for opening and closing the store as assigned; must be available to work evenings and some weekends and serve as the on-duty leader during those times
- Support the onboarding, training, and coaching of team members to reinforce operational standards and customer service expectations.
- Regularly walk the store and yard to find and address issues in order to ensure a clean, well-stocked and merchandised store for customers.
- Communicate effectively.
- Develop and maintain expert-level knowledge of the assigned department, including products, merchandising standards and customer needs.
- Ensure that all items in your assigned area are accurately labeled and located.
- Ensure incoming product is properly stocked and organized in its designated locations on truck days, with a primary focus on the assigned department.
- Actively cross-train in other departments and areas of the store, demonstrating a commitment to continuous learning.
- Perform any necessary customer service tasks including but not limited to; cutting keys, filling propane, running register, assisting with loading products, answering inquiries, etc.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-merchandised assigned department, including re-stickering, fronting, dusting, sweeping, and general cleaning. Assist in other departments as needed, while always keeping customer service as the top priority.
- Recover department daily.
- Work with Department Leads and store management to maintain promotional and permanent displays.
- Maintain proper inventory levels by monitoring and adjusting min / max order points, working back stock and making inventory adjustments as needed. Order inventory as necessary, and complete purchase orders and other related paperwork.
- Complete cycle counts as required.
- Update prices as assigned.
- Ensure backstock is worked and replenished to the sales floor as needed; maintain accurate awareness and organization of backstock areas.
- Assist in and manage the process of unloading freight and stocking shelves.
- Keep the entire sales floor clean and presentable.
- Store maintenance as needed including but not limited to; cleaning common areas, trash removal, parking lot and sidewalk sweeping.
- Maintain situational awareness regarding loss prevention. Assist in loss prevention efforts.
- Ensure a safe working environment. Follow proper lifting, equipment and PPE guidelines. Maintain situational awareness. Identify and report any safety issues or concerns to management.
- Uphold personal appearance standards per company policy.
- Follow all guidelines outlined in the Team Member Handbook.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Proven experience in assistant management roles within retail or rental environments with supervisory responsibilities
- Strong knowledge of inventory management systems, POS (Point of Sale) technology, and retail math principles
- Excellent communication skills in multiple languages or bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse customer bases
- Demonstrated skills in negotiation, sales management, merchandising, and pricing strategies
- Ability to lead teams effectively through training & development initiatives while maintaining high standards of customer service
- Experience with payroll processing, bookkeeping, cash handling procedures, and administrative tasks required for smooth store operations
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced setting
