American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a CA RN license and advanced fetal monitoring skills.
-
Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a community hospital
-
13-week assignment
-
Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:00
-
Provides labor and delivery management including assisting with vaginal deliveries and circulating/recovering C-sections
-
Delivers antepartum, postpartum, and neonatal care in the delivery room
-
Administers medications including Magnesium Sulfate, Pitocin, and Terbutaline
-
Manages pain including epidural anesthesia and IV PCA use
-
Uses external fetal heart monitoring (EFM) for obstetrical triage and fetal monitoring
-
Active CA RN license required
-
Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
-
NRP provider certification required
-
AWHONN Advanced certification preferred
-
Advanced Fetal Monitoring experience required
-
Minimum 2 years of relevant RN experience required

Must be comfortable providing care to both baby and delivering mother

Previous charge nurse experience preferred

Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of blood and blood products
-
Skilled in starting and maintaining IVs and using infusion pumps and drips
-
Experience with sterile vaginal exams and postpartum care including fundus, lochia, and perineum care
-
7-year work history verification required with supporting documentation if needed
-
2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration

Must reside within a 50-mile radius to qualify for local candidate rate
-
Returning employees must have a separation period of at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
-
Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract

Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
-
Holiday periods are defined as beginning at 7:00 PM the night before and ending at 7:00 AM the day after the holiday

Must complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing

All compliance documentation due 10 days prior to start date
