This is a high-impact product and technical leadership role. We are looking for a Senior Technical Product Owner to join our financial technology initiatives supporting a major Payments Modernization Program.
You will operate at the intersection of product strategy, business operations, payments, and software engineering, driving the transformation of core payment capabilities across Wire, RTP, FedNow, ACH, fraud prevention, and digital channels.
Note on Location: This is a hybrid position based in Miami Lakes, FL, requiring 3 days per week on-site and 2 days working remotely.
Product Ownership: Own the product backlog and roadmap for assigned payment capabilities, ensuring priorities are clearly defined and aligned with business objectives, customer needs, and technical strategy.
Product Strategy & Prioritization: Translate business goals, operational challenges, and customer needs into actionable product initiatives, prioritizing features and enhancements based on business value, risk, dependencies, and technical feasibility.
User Stories & Acceptance Criteria: Define detailed epics, features, user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional/non-functional requirements that provide clear direction to development and QA teams.
Technical Collaboration: Partner closely with Solution Architects, Software Engineers, Integration teams, and technical leadership to understand system dependencies, APIs, microservices, middleware, databases, and integration requirements.
Payments Domain: Drive product initiatives across payment capabilities such as Wire, RTP, FedNow, ACH, fraud prevention, and digital payment channels, ensuring solutions address operational, regulatory, and customer requirements.
Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary product interface between business stakeholders, technology teams, operations, compliance, risk, and leadership, facilitating alignment around priorities, scope, trade-offs, and expected outcomes.
Process & Product Optimization: Analyze existing processes and payment workflows, identify opportunities for automation and improvement, and translate them into product initiatives that reduce operational friction and risk.
Experience: 5+ years of experience in Product Ownership, Technical Product Management, Business Analysis, or similar roles, with significant experience working in software development concepts.
Technical Product Ownership: Proven experience owning product backlogs, defining roadmaps, prioritizing features, writing user stories, and driving end-to-end delivery with engineering teams.
Agile Knowledge: Technical knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies, including backlog management, sprint planning, refinement, retrospectives, and iterative product delivery.
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of software development concepts, APIs, microservices, system integrations, databases, and data flows. Ability to engage in technical discussions with architects and engineers.
Payments / Financial Services: Experience working with banking, financial services, fintech, payments, treasury, or transaction processing environments is strongly preferred.
Stakeholder Management: Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to work effectively with executives, business stakeholders, product teams, and technical engineering teams.
Product Tools: Hands-on experience with tools such as Jira and Confluence for backlog management, documentation, requirements, and product delivery.
Process & Workflow: Ability to analyze complex business processes, define current and future-state workflows, identify improvement opportunities, and translate them into product requirements.
Direct experience with payments modernization initiatives.
Experience with RTP, FedNow, ACH, Wire, FedWire, or SWIFT.
Knowledge of ISO 20022 and payment messaging standards.
Experience with financial technology platforms such as Finzly, Fiserv, Actimize, or FircoSoft.
Familiarity with cloud-based architectures, particularly AWS.
Experience with API-driven and microservices-based architectures.
