The Position
West Michigan Pallet Management is hiring experienced CDL-A truck drivers for local, first-shift work based out of our Byron Center facility. Drivers haul dry van trailers throughout Michigan and return home daily. Approximately 99% of the work is drop-and-hook, making this a straightforward driving position with very limited trailer handling.
What You’ll Drive
- Single-axle and tandem-axle tractors A mix of manual-transmission and automatic-transmission trucks Dry van trailers only Primarily drop-and-hook routes with minimal loading or unloading responsibility
Minimum Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL-A) At least three years of recent, relevant commercial driving experience Ability to safely operate both manual and automatic transmission equipment Current DOT medical certification, or ability to pass a DOT physical Ability to pass all required drug and alcohol testing Ability to pass a background check and meet company and insurance compliance standards No prior DUI convictions No more than four points on the driver’s license / motor vehicle record Dependable attendance, safe driving habits, professional communication, and a team-first attitude
Short-Haul Schedule
Routes are designed as local short-haul operations. When all federal short-haul requirements are met—including operating within 150 air miles of the normal reporting location, returning to that location, and being released within the required duty window—drivers generally are not required to use an ELD or prepare a traditional record of duty status. Company time records and all other applicable DOT and hours-of-service requirements still apply.
